Entertainment Weekly ran a feature interview with Lawlor to acknowledge her win, titled "Queer author Andrea Lawlor just won a Whiting Award. It's been a long, gratifying road." Rescue Press published the book on November 1, 2017, and Vintage reissued the book on April 23, 2019.
