Two stories from Ted Chiang’s short story collection EXHALATION are finalists for the 2020 Hugo Awards. His story “Anxiety Is the Dizziness of Freedom” was named a finalist in the Best Novella category and his story “Omphhalos” was named a finalist in the Best Novelette category. The author also did an interview with Electric Literature for a piece entitled “Ted Chiang Explains the Disaster Novel We All Suddenly Live In.” Knopf published the book on May 18, 2019.

A new documentary film from Grammy Award-winning Beastie Boys members Mike Diamond and Adam Horovitz is coming to Apple TV+. Sterogum announces: “In the past few years, [Horovitz] and [Diamond], the two surviving Beasties, have been invested in finding interesting ways to tell their own stories. Those efforts have already led to BEASTIE BOYS BOOK, one of the best music memoirs of all time. And now they’ve also teamed up with their old collaborator Spike Jonze for BEASTIE BOYS STORY, a new documentary film that involves the two Beasties telling the whole story of their friendship.” Spiegel & Grau published the book on October 30, 2018.

Katherine Arden’s WINTERNIGHT TRILOGY, comprised of THE BEAR AND THE NIGHTINGALE, THE GIRL IN THE TOWER, and THE WINTER OF THE WITCH, is a finalist for a Hugo Award in the category of Best Series. Del Rey published THE WINTER OF THE WITCH, the final book of the trilogy, on January 8, 2019.

The Associated Press put out a glowing review of PROVIDENCE by Max Barry, writing: “PROVIDENCE is really about how we can all overcome adversity even when answers and resolutions are not clear-cut.” GP Putnam’s Sons published the book on March 31, 2020.

BECOMING SUPERMAN by J. Michael Straczynski has been named a finalist for the 2020 Hugo Awards in the category Best Related Work. This award is given to a work related to the field of science fiction, fantasy, or fandom. Harper Voyager published the book on July 23, 2019.

Jessica Pearce Rotondi appeared on Zibby Owen’s Instagram Live show, #MomsDontHaveTimeToReadBooks, to discuss her forthcoming memoir WHAT WE INHERIT. Rotondi will also be doing an Instagram takeover for The Chicago Review of Books starting April 15th. Unnamed Press will publish the book on April 21, 2020.
