Sally Mann’s bestselling memoir has been named to the non-fiction shortlist for the National Book Award. Little Brown published the book on May 12, 2015.

TIN STAR has been awarded the 2015 Sunburst Award for Young Adult Fiction. In announcing their decision, the Sunburst Award Society called the young adult novel “a powerful, melancholy, and ultimately surprising work, Tin Star is a coming-of-age tale that will resonate with any reader with a pulse.” Since 2001, The Sunburst Award for Excellence in Canadian Literature of the Fantastic has celebrated the best in Canadian fantastic literature in both Adult and Young Adult publications. Namwali Serpell was awarded the 2015 Caine Prize for African writing for her story “The Sack” and becomes the first Zambian writer to win the prestigious prize. She will be splitting the £10,000 cash prize with all the shortlisted writers. “The Sack” explores the power struggle between two men, one very ill, and the woman who came between them. The South African writer Zoë Wicomb, who chaired the judging panel, called it “formally innovative, stylistically stunning, haunting and enigmatic in its effects”...
