Joss Lake’s debut novel, FUTURE FEELING, was hailed by The Cut as “the queer surrealism you’ve been waiting for,” while Real Change News calls it “enthralling, captivating.” The book has been a darling of Pride Month and summer recommended reading lists, including roundups from WRAL, Nylon, Lambda Literary, Ms. (“vivid, imaginative, and immersive”), and Vogue, and a staff pick for Paris Review. Joss was featured in New York Magazine’s “Grub Street Diet” and Shelf Awareness’s “Reading With,” and an excerpt of the first chapter was published on Tor.com. Soft Skull published the book on June 1, 2021.

Maggie Nelson's forthcoming essay collection ON FREEDOM was named one of Publishers Weekly’s Top 10 Essays & Literary Criticism titles for fall 2021. The book was also featured on USA Today's summer reading roundup. They write: "Drawing on a vast range of pop culture and critical theory, the celebrated cultural critic explores the ways we think, experience and discuss the concept of freedom." Graywolf Press will publish the book on September 7, 2021.

Publishers Weekly named the LETTER TO A STRANGER collection, edited by Colleen Kinder and featuring essays from writers including Elizabeth Kolbert, Pico Iyer, and Leslie Jamison, on its Top 10 Essays & Literary Criticism Titles for fall 2021. Algonquin Books will publish the collection on October 5, 2021.

Wally Koval’s ACCIDENTALLY WES ANDERSON was named one of AIGA’s “50 Books | 50 Covers 2020” winners. The book will be archived both in the AIGA Design Archives—a permanent, accessible, and historic collection of notable graphic design—and the AIGA collection at the Rare Book and Manuscript Library at Columbia University’s Butler Library in the city of New York. Voracious published the book on October 20, 2020.

STARLIGHT ENCLAVE by R.A. Salvatore received a rave review from Publishers Weekly. The reviewer writes: “[T]he superior characterizations that marked Salvatore’s prior books are again in evidence. His many devoted fans have reason to anticipate the sequel.” Harper Voyager will publish the book on August 3, 2021.

Hermione Hoby sat down with Interview Magazine to discuss her new novel, VIRTUE. The magazine writes: “With the release of her second novel…Hoby is going in for the kill. The 36-year-old author might have just written the defining New York City novel of our fraught, socially anxious, and politically tumultuous times.” VIRTUE was also included in Entertainment Weekly’s July Summer Preview issue. Riverhead Books will publish the novel on July 20, 2021.

Kendra Allen was interviewed by the Dallas Morning News about her new poetry collection, THE COLLECTION PLATE. When asked what she wants readers to know about the book, Allen replied: “I’m proud of it. Which is hard for me to say. With this collection, I feel like I came to the page honestly, in a way that I probably hadn’t before.” The collection was also listed as one of Refinery29’s “38 Books You’ll Want to Read This Summer.” Ecco will publish the book on July 6, 2021.
