Ramona Ausubel’s A GUIDE TO BEING BORN was favorably reviewed in Booklist and Flavorwire, which called the book a “luminous collection.” Booklist raved, “Ausubel is a master stylist of vibrant, concise prose, and these stories, with love most often at their core, can be appreciated for that alone.” Riverhead will publish the book May 2, 2013.

Jim Gavin’s MIDDLE MEN was favorably reviewed in the “Briefly Noted” section of The New Yorker, which raved, “Gavin’s peppery prose unspools the plight of his characters – from good but not good enough basketball stars to toilet salesmen – with poignancy and not a trace of sentimentality.” Simon & Schuster published the book in February 19, 2013.

Miller's Norwegian by Night is one of the most surprising and unusual novels to emerge in recent years…Thought-provoking, evocative, and wry in the best way, [this] is a remarkable novel.” The author was also interviewed in the magazine. Houghton Mifflin Harcourt will publish the book May 21, 2013.

SPARTA by Roxana Robinson was reviewed in Publishers Weekly: “Robinson’s fifth novel…is a detailed examination of the inner life of a Marine returning home after combat… By letting the reader live in Conrad’s skin, Robinson creates a moving chronicle of how we fail our returning troops.”
Sarah Crichton Books (FSG) will publish the book on June 4, 2013.

Sunjeev Sahota has been named one of Granta’s 20 Best of Young British Novelists. The honor is given every 10 years by the London-based literary magazine, which describes the list as “the future of literature in Britain.” In a short introduction, Salman Rushdie praised Sahota’s work, saying “I read this piece without knowing its title or the writer’s name (both Top Secret at the time) but the talent couldn’t be redacted. There it is on every page, strong, fresh and true. I look forward to reading more.”

TIGER RAG by Nicholas Christopher

Nicholas Christopher was interviewed by GQ about his new novel, TIGER RAG. The novel, “paints a picture of a jazz recording session so vividly that the reader might want to keep a towel handy for mopping his brow James Brown-style.” The Dial Press published the book January 1, 2013.

David Shields’ HOW LITERATURE SAVED MY LIFE was favorably reviewed in the London Evening Standard and the Huffington Post, which called the book “an amazing reading experience” and Shields a “maestro.” The London Evening standard called it “thoroughly rewarding.” Knopf published the book in February 2013.
