In their piece about BEA's virtual events, the New York Times highlighted one of the most powerful moments of the expo—Sally Kim, editor-in-chief of Putnam, showing Robert Jones, Jr. a mock-up of his debut novel, THE PROPHETS. They state: "Jones's emotional reaction, seen intimately up close in his home office, would likely not have been as powerful in the hangar-like Javits Center." G.P. Putnam’s Sons will publish the book on January 5, 2021.

RED DRESS IN BLACK AND WHITE by Elliot Ackerman

The Washington Post describes Elliot Ackerman’s RED DRESS IN BLACK AND WHITE as “shrewd [and] intricately plotted,” while the Associated Press calls it “a tense tale from Turkey . . . [that] is taut, balanced between order and chaos, just like Istanbul in that summer of 2013.” Additionally, the novel is a New York Times Book Review Editors’ Choice selection this week. BEASTIE BOYS BOOK by Michael Diamond and Adam Horovitz

Additionally, The New Yorker published an interview with Adam Horovitz as part of their “The New Yorker Interview” series, noting “one of [the documentary's] most moving moments comes when Horovitz recalls what turned out to be their final performance together as a band, in 2009, right before Yauch’s diagnosis. It’s a rare moment of candor from someone who’s kept a relatively low profile in his post-Beastie Boys life." Diamond and Horovitz’ memoir BEASTIE BOYS BOOK, which served as inspiration for the documentary, was published by Random House on October 30, 2018.
