Choire Sicha published “Let Me Tell You About the Most Heartfelt $200 I Ever Made” in the September 8 issue of New York Magazine, about the gentrification of New York City and the Bloomberg administration. Sicha’s first book, VERY RECENT HISTORY: AN ENTIRELY FACTUAL ACCOUNT OF A YEAR (c. AD 2009) IN A LARGE CITY, was published by HarperCollins on August 6, 2013.

Larry Watson’s LET HIM GO was reviewed in Star Tribune, Boswell’s, Pioneer Press, The Gazette, and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Publishers Weekly named it a Big Indie Book of Fall 2013 and Huffington Post Books named it a Best New Book for the Week, calling it “slyly suspenseful, highly engaging.” The Gazette said, “In addition to the beauty of the writing, LET HIM GO offers a stirring portrait of a long marriage.” The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel noted its “deservedly powerful climax.”

Rilla Askew’s “Rhumba”, published in the current issue of Tin House, was named one of the Top 5 Longreads of the Week. Askew’s KIND OF KIN was published by Ecco on January 8, 2013.

Choire Sicha’s VERY RECENT HISTORY was reviewed in The Millions, which called it “a beautifully written and carefully documented (and often very funny) book about a group of people that, to our society’s collective detriment, continues to be largely ignored, dismissed, and stereotyped.” Sicha was also interviewed in Salon, Slate, Mother Jones, The Verge, and Pacific Standard. HarperCollins published the book on August 6, 2013.

Ramona Ausubel’s NO ONE HERE EXCEPT ALL OF US won the 2013 PEN Center USA Literary Award for Fiction. Ausubel’s second book and first short story collection, A GUIDE TO BEING BORN, was published by Riverhead on May 2, 2013.

Manuel Gonzales’ THE MINIATURE WIFE was named one of the Best Books of 2013 So Far by Esquire, which said, “It's easy to compare Manuel Gonzales to George Saunders, but it would be just as easy to compare him to Borges or Márquez or Aimee Bender…He makes the extraordinary ordinary, and his playfulness is infectious.” Riverhead published the book on January 10, 2013.

IT’S ALL GOOD, Gwyneth Paltrow’s collection of ‘Delicious, Easy Recipes That Will Make You Look Good and Feel Great’ celebrates twenty weeks on the New York Times Bestseller list. Grand Central Life & Style published the hardcover April 2, 2013.

Robert Hilburn’s biography of JOHNNY CASH was named one of the most anticipated books for the fall by New York magazine and the Seattle Times. Little, Brown will publish the book October 29, 2013.

Flavorwire recently named MY EDUCATION as a “Favorite Cultural Thing of the Week.” Judy Berman, the editor-in-chief of Flavorwire, said that MY EDUCATION: “sucked me in immediately” and that “Choi begins with a familiar setup: a precocious new grad student at a prestigious university (that is obviously Cornell) becomes infatuated with a superhumanly handsome professor notorious for his sexual exploits with students. You think you know where it’s going from there, but you don’t.” Viking published MY EDUCATION on July 3, 2013.
