Alexandra Machinist began her publishing career as a summer intern at Janklow & Nesbit Associates. After practicing law at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, she became an agent at the Linda Chester Literary Agency before happily returning to her Janklow & Nesbit home. A voracious reader, Alexandra considers her role as literary agent to be the ideal marriage of her loves and talents. She represents the gamut of fiction as well as select nonfiction. Her authors are New York Times, USA Today and national bestsellers. Alexandra adores helping existing authors shape and drive their careers forward, but she is still captivated by the treasure hunt of finding the next great debut. She has a keen desire to represent all types of high concept commercial fiction, romance, young adult, literary suspense and anything and everything that grabs her on the first page and doesn’t let her go until the last. She has a B.A. from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. She is a member of the New York Bar.
