Jeffrey Eugendies short story, “Find the Bad Guy” was published in the November 18, 2013 issue of the New Yorker. His latest novel, THE MARRIAGE PLOT, was published by Farrar Straus & Giroux on October 11, 2011.

James Scott’s debut novel received a starred review in Publisher’s Weekly. The review raves that “Scott has produced a work of historical fiction that is both atmospheric and memorable, suffused with dread and suspense right up to the last page.” Harper Collins will publish the book on January 7, 2014.

Victoria Wilson’s biography of Barbara Stanwyck was reviewed on November 13th in the New York Times. The reviewer Janet Maslin says that "Victoria Wilson’s gargantuan biography of Barbara Stanwyck manages to fill 860 glittering pages of text with only the first half of Stanwyck’s story…And it ends with a cliffhanger, creating eager anticipation for Ms. Wilson’s concluding volume.” Simon & Schuster published the book on November 12, 2013.

Danielle Steel’s new novel debuted at number 4 on the New York Times HC bestseller list for November 17, 2013. The book also debuted at number 6 on the Combined Print and E-book bestseller list. Delacorte published the book October 10, 2013.

Robert Hilburn’s biography of JOHNNY CASH has received positive reviews from Slate (“the most insightful, entertaining, comprehensive, and well-told Cash
biography to date”), Entertainment Weekly (“assiduously researched and entertaining), the Wall Street Journal (“authoritative and revealing”) and Los Angeles Magazine (“evocative and surprising”).

Lucy Corin’s ONE HUNDRED APOCALYPSES AND OTHER APOCALYPSES was reviewed in the Los Angeles Review of Books, which said, “The dreamy, fairy-tale qualities and allegorical ambitions of these stories are tempered with sophistication and terror, making One Hundred Apocalypses and Other Apocalypses ageless…may be the most titillating short story collection since Wells Tower’s debut.” McSweeney’s published the book on August 13, 2013.

Stephen Marche published an article in the New York Times about Toronto’s mayor Rob Ford and the current state of the city. Marche’s novel THE HUNGER OF THE WOLF will be published by Simon & Schuster in January 2015.

Anne Rice appeared on the October 31st episode of CBS THIS MORNING to discuss her new bestselling novel, THE WOLVES OF MIDWINTER. Knopf published the book on October 15, 2013.

JOHNNY CASH: THE LIFE has received some wonderful praise in its first week of publication. The LA TIMES called it “a comprehensive and thoughtful biography” and says that “Hilburn does an artful, enviable job of reconciling all the facets [of Cash]…[and] writes with a remarkably steady hand. Salon discussed it in a piece on big biographies and excerpts from the book were published on the Daily Beast, which called it “a vivid new biography.”

Olivia Laing was awarded the 2014 Eccles British Library Writer in Residence Award. Now in its third year, the Award promotes awareness of the British Library collections relating to the USA and allows the recipient to use the collections to research their upcoming publications. Picador will publish Laing’s book THE TRIP TO ECHO SPRING on December 24, 2013.
