MIDDLE MEN by Jim Gavin

Jim Gavin was interviewed in the LA Times, Interview Magazine, Kirkus, and Shelf Awareness about such topics as his cultural influences, his writing process, and the mix of fiction and fact that comprise the stories in his debut collection, MIDDLE MEN. The LA Times praised the book’s “subtle arc,” while Kirkus praised its “poignant realism and comedy of the absurd.” Shelf Awareness called the collection “sardonic, sometimes sweet” and “Evelyn Waugh-esque,” while Interview Magazine praised Gavin’s ability to “invite his readers to laugh along with him.”

The book was also positively reviewed in the New York Times, which noted that “Gavin strikes a fine balance in each tale, wielding a sharp sense of humor but never losing sight of people’s dignity.” Simon & Schuster published the book February 12, 2013.
