FRANCES AND BERNARD by Carlene Bauer

Carlene Bauer’s FRANCES AND BERNARD received rave reviews in both People Magazine and The Boston Globe. People called it a “moving tale” and gave it 3 out of 4 stars. The Boston Globe, praised Bauer’s “sharp, witty, and elegant prose” and said that “after finishing this sweet and somber novel, we…marvel at the subtlety of what Bauer has wrought out of history and a generous imagination.”

It was also a featured recommendation on over 35 CBS stations across the county on a syndicated Valentine’s Day feature, which recommended the novel to those who “love Mad Men, but wish it were a little more romantic.” In addition, Bauer was recently interviewed on WNYC’s Leonard Lopate show. Houghton Mifflin Harcourt published the book this February 5, 2013.
