ELDERS by Ryan McIlvain

Ryan McIlvain’s debut novel ELDERS was positively reviewed in Slate, and McIlvain was interviewed in Shelf Awareness. Slate said, “McIlvain dissects the mix of need and ambition and genuine faith that fuel a disciplined devotion to a demanding way of life, and he’s also sensitive to the sometimes imperial obliviousness of Mormon [missionaries]”. In the Book Brahmin section of Shelf Awareness, McIlvain discusses his top five authors, the book that changed his life, and his favorite line from a book. Hogarth published the book March 5, 2013.
